This year our traditional International Day was expanded into a fully fledged International Week, including country presentations and master classes, where country participants demonstrated their national customs, as well as an International Seminar-Practicum "Reading for Meaning and Working with Texts". 

This year's guest list featured a delegation from Shaanxi Pedagogical University in Xi'an China that included Foreign Language Institute Director Academician and Tibetologist Wang Qilong; Professor Weng Xia, who is Dean of the Russian Language Division of the Foreign Language Institute; Professor Hu Weipimg, who serves as Director of the Chinese Ministry of Education's Laboratory of Modern Pedagogical Technologies; and Natalya Tsareva, who is Professor of Russian Language and Director of the Russian World Center at  Shaanxi Pedagogical University; as well as students from the university doing their practicums at ILS.

The opening ceremonies for International Week were also attended by the Republic of Korea's Consul for Culture Cho Gyn Hee; Japan's Consul for Culture Takayangi Keita; Dr Konkordia Kurilova, who serves as Director of the FEFU Confucious Institute; Li Fan, who serves as Chinese co-director of the Confucious Institute; Elena Nikitina from Alliance Francaise in Vladivostok; and Honorary Canadian Consul Tatyana Demenok.
