For ILS students, reaching the finals of the 12th Primorye Regional Calligraphy Competition is another step forward in their study of the Chinese language.
At the competition, students in grades 7-10 had one hour to accurately convey a piece of text. A total of 2,816 students from 26 educational institutions in Vladivostok and the rest of Primorye took part in the competition. The judges selected 130 works for the finals, including calligraphy done by nine ILS students.
“Our students have been champions and prize winners at this prestigious competition in the past,” explains ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “We are rooting for all of them, and wish them victory in this year’s final.”
