ILS students from 6th-8th grade sections 6M1, 6M2, 6M3, 7M1, 8M1 and 8M3 who are learning the Japanese language, together with their teacher Olga Podsvirova, were guests at a gathering titled "In the name of life and friendship, in the tradition of popular diplomacy". The event was timed to coincide with the Year of Japan and Russia and was held at the Gorky Primorsky Regional Public Library.
The ILS students were active participants, singing a song about friendship and peace in Japanese that was well received by everyone present.
"Gatherings of this kind are very important for our students," notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "They have contact with native speakers, learn about the culture of the country they are studying, and also make new friends."
Our students also saw the exhibition "Amazing Japan", which included cultural items along with books and albums received under the international book exchange program with the prefectures of Totori and Toyama. They also took part in a master class on decorative and applied art called "Sea knot tying".
