Students from groups8M1, 8M2, 9M3, 10A and 10B were treated to a series of Knowledge Day lectures at Primorye's Arsenev Unified State Museum.

"We created a set of lecture-discussions on ethnography, archaeology and history," explains Alexandra Osipova, who heads the museum's Department of Cultural and Educational Programs. "The history of Primorye stretches back many centuries. Two thousand years ago this region was already settled, and in my view it is very interesting to find out how those people lived and see items from their dwellings."

The list of topics for the lecture-discussions included "Following the tracks of the Bokhai kingdom", "Archeology of Primorye", "Searching for the Udege land" and "The great traveler and explorer of the Ussuri taiga N. M. Przhivalsky", and our students also learned about the world of various native peoples of Primorye: the Udeges, Nanaitsy and Orochei, acquiring a great deal of new knowledge about our region.

" This year's Knowledge Day was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn more about the region where they live," noted ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Unfortunately, the heavy rains washed away our plans for walking excursions around Old Vladivostok to learn about the lives of the city's earliest residents, but we will definitely reschedule this excursion for sometime in the very near future."
