The month-long practicum for future teachers from Shaanxi Pedagogical University (Xi'an, China), during which they were part of the ILS team, ended with a farewell ceremony. The visiting students conducted classes and learned about our school's teaching methods. During a final round-table discussion they talked about the friends they made, the work they did, and the wonderful time they had at ILS.
"The atmosphere at your school is very warm, and the teachers not as strict as in Chinese schools.
"Unfortunately, Chinese schools do not have creative lessons, offering mathematics or language lessons instead. We learned a great deal here."
"We thank you for trusting us to conduct classes. This a great responsibility, and the physics teacher who worked with us patiently answered all our questions after the lesson. Even though the classes were in Russian, we understoond the main things - how the lesson is structured and what each teacher considers most important."
"Our English lessons with head teacher Svetlana Feshchenko were very interesting. It's a shame the time flew by so fast."
"We very much liked the city and the people of Vladivostok. Whenever we went around on our own and lost our way, people always helped us."
"We are learning Russian at our university, and we understand the language better now thanks to our practicum. We express our gratitude to the teachers who gave us extra Russian lessons."
"The students' practicum has ended, and all of us learned valuable lessons," ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko told the students before their departure for home. "We were glad to share our experience, our methodological innovations and creative discoveries. We hope that the experience you gained through this international practicum and your work with students from various countries at our school will help you in the future, and that you will always remember Russia with warmth and happiness."
