ILS “Vladivostok – tourism gateway to the APR” project results announced

For three months ILS 10th graders worked on projects for the “Vladivostok – tourism gateway to the Asia-Pacific Region” competition, with each of the seven teams developing its own idea: Vladivostok mobile application; Quest for foreign tourists; Cape Poslepova beach; Three-day tour for Korean families; Raccoon café; Gastronomic festival; and Russian Island tourist base.

The projects were evaluated by a panel of judges who work in the tourism and project development industries, including: Denis Prikhodko, general director of the company Fit meal; Aleksandra Shoman, director of the Primorye Tourism Center; Daria Guseva, general director of the Forstrong clothing company; Miamoto Tadasi, a professor at the Nevelsky Maritime State University and a teacher at the Vladivostok Japanese Center; Aleksandr Evdokimov, general director of East Navigator Group; Maria Nemtsova, candidate of Economics at FEFU; Olga Kuskova, a blogger and editor-in-chief of  the internet journal Prim-Travel; and Vyacheslav Yaglinsky, an IT expert and a finalist in the ‘Leaders of Russia’ competition.

The members of the winning team were: Anfisa Bogdanenko, Danil Korotkov, Bogdan Andreichuk, Georgii Maltsev, Yaroslav Paramonov, Irina Burova (mentor – Aleksei Pezhemsky)

The other teams were declared best in the following categories:

Most realistic project: Lee Jiyun, Park Kyunam, Khan Euntaek, Chon Taehyun, Chong Gaeun, Ksenia Kuzmenko (mentors – Richard Thomas, Yulia Filatova).

Best large-scale project: Yevgeny Mikhailov, Sergei Rasulev, Arina Ostrovskaya, Yelena Bolsunovskaya, Ksenia Didik, Maria Sventsitskaya (mentor – Aleksei Bogdanovich).

Most effective project: Anna Ostanina, Irina Kulakovskaya, Kristina Seledtsova, Anna Berisheva, Alisa Chumakova, Marina Gaineeva, Ernest Kotkov (mentor – Yelena Bolshakova).

Most unique project: Ilya Bazhenov, Veronika Zhandarmova, Anna Zabuga, Sofia Zvinchuk, Dmitry Kvashin, Timur Teregulov, Andrei Yakovenko (mentor Caroline Lopukhov).

Best social project: Arina Rundau, Anastasia Khomenko, Karina Dorofeeva, Yelena Boyarko, Violetta Anosova, Ivan Krasnoshapka (mentor – Sofia Okhotina).

Most original project: Vadim Fedorov, Yelena Sapelkina, Mikhail Tsymbalei, Sofia Kuzharuk, Vladimir Prokopenko, Oksana Semiletova (mentors – Anton Glupak, Stanislav Gerasimov).

“Project work is nothing new for our students, but this time the focus was on soft skills,” explains ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “We understand that the ability to communicate, respect colleagues’ opinions, and pay attention to details will give our students a clear advantage in the future.”
