Preparations have begun at ILS for the 6th Annual International Children’s Jazz Festival Pacific Fusion, to be held on 28-29 April, 2020.
Every year, the festival brings together jazz lovers and talented musicians from Russia and other countries in the Asia-Pacific Region.
“We have informed music schools and musical groups in Primorye and the rest of the Russian Far East about the festival-competition,” explains ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “We do this so that the teachers and group leaders of young musicians have time to develop their repertoires and prepare the participants for the event. We wish to remind everyone that, beginning in 2019, Pacific Fusion is now held in two stages: the first stage is off-site, with potential participants preparing video versions of their numbers for assessment; the second stage is on-site, at ILS, where the performers selected present their work to the judges.”
Time is flying, soon spring will be here, and with it the jazz classics and fusion creations of our young musician-competitors. Each year, the festival has a theme color, and this year, the color is orange.
