On April 30, ILS for the first time will host the Junior Fashion & Design competition for young designers and fashion designers.
Style in different parts of the world is diverse and differs depending on culture. However, some cities, such as Paris, New York and Milan have always been known as the centers of the global fashion industry. Now, Vladivostok is a place where a new fashion event is being launched.
“Very soon, we will lift the veil of secrecy and publish detailed information,” says Tatyana Vetokhina, head of the ILS Fashion and Style Studio. “The judges panel will include famous designers, who will determine the winners. The relevance, style decision, and aesthetic concept of the collection, as well as the originality of color and construction solutions will be taken into account.”
“It’s great that our school will be the organizer of such an important event,” says ILS 10th grader Maria Shteinkova. “I have been working in the Fashion and Design Studio for a long time, and together with our teacher, I participate in Russian and international competitions for young designers, such as ‘Fashion without borders” and “Pygmalion,” and in 2018, together with Tatyana Vetokhina and my classmate Polina Shklyaeva, won the 2018 China Zhengzhou International Fashion Week X and China Zhengzhou International Culture Week
“I hope that this competition will launch a new tradition and become a major event in the Russian Far East,” says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “It is important to develop and support the talents of young designers and help them to improve their skills.”
