ILS and Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) have begun a joint program called “Greetings, Vladivostok,” which is the school’s first project with one of Russia’s leading universities. More

A special program “Children instead of flowers,” conducted jointly this year by ILS and the Vladmama Charity Fund, has been successfully completed. Funds collected during the program will be spent in support of children undergoing treatment at the Children’s Cardiological Division of the Regional Center for Specialized Medical Assistance. More

For the 21st International Educational Forum in Morioka the organizers chose three topics from the UN’s 2015 list of goals for sustainable development: child poverty, women’s social advancement, and aging society. Our school was asked to research and give a presentation on the topic “Quality of life among the elderly.” More

The school year has begun, and students are visiting the library in large numbers. Along with textbooks, the ILS library offers encyclopedias and other reference materials along with many different works of fiction and journals for students from primary to high-school grades. More

ILS 5th graders have begun the school year with adaptation training to help them get acquainted with each other, their new school, and their teachers. More

In keeping with school tradition, ILS students in grades 8-12 spent part of Knowledge Day at the Arseniev Museum and the Primorye Picture Gallery. At the gallery, the students learned about Russian art traditions in the XVI-XX centuries and saw an exhibition of works by Valentina Diffins-Chritsy, a Soviet-Russian artist from the Moscow Painting School, along with an exhibit of gold jewelry from the State Hermitage’s Roman collection. The first day of the academic year is one of the most memorable, exciting and joyous for all students and teachers. Our school is now an official partner of the national research institute “Higher School of Economics,” which gives every ILS student the opportunity to receive knowledge at the highest level through joint projects. At the All-Russian Congress “My Country”, held in St. Petersburg on April 18-21, ILS was recognized as one of Russia’s Top 500 educational organizations, winning a prize in the “Leader in implementing innovative technologies” category. The competition was organized by the “Neva Educational Assembly” socio-professional association. More

ILS 5th graders recently demonstrated that sport can be much more than just a leisure activity, achieving excellent results in difficult competitions. More

Work on shaping the rating system for the extracurricular activities of ILS students continues. In the 3rd quarter, the participation of students in grades 5-7 in school, city and regional non-academic activities was analyzed, leading to changes in the rating system. More

ILS 6th grader Timur Serdyukov, section 6M2, won a gold medal at the International Rapier Fencing Championship in Harbin, China. More

For three months ILS 10th graders worked on projects for the “Vladivostok – tourism gateway to the Asia-Pacific Region” competition, with each of the seven teams developing its own idea: Vladivostok mobile application; Quest for foreign tourists; Cape Poslepova beach; Three-day tour for Korean families; Raccoon café; Gastronomic festival; and Russian Island tourist base. Students in ILS elementary grades showed off their declamatory talents at the recent “Poetry Reading” competition. More

The results for the Dubinin Regional Subject Olympiad for School Children have been announced. More

ILS students have always demonstrated notable athletic prowess, with pupils in the younger classes rivaling the success of their older schoolmates. Fifth-grader Egor Belikov (section 5M3) took first place in the Champion-1 50-meter swimming competition, covering the distance in 37.38 seconds. More

World-acclaimed doll artist Galina Dmitruk gave a three-day master class at ILS, teaching our students how to create striking, unusual dolls with special materials. More

The 5th International Children’s Jazz Festival-Competition Pacific Fusion has come to a close at ILS. The second day of the event was rich in complex instrumental compositions, with ensembles, orchestras and soloists striving to give their very best performance and impress the judges. More

The 5th International Children’s Jazz Festival-Competition Pacific Fusion opened at ILS on April 23, with 21 musical groups performing numbers by well-known jazz musicians and composers. Vocalists presented songs by James Brown, Irina Otieva, George Gershwin, Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein, while instrumentalists demonstrated the freedom and lightness of jazz. More

The “Performing the classics” project has become a tradition at ILS, with each 8th-grade section going on stage to perform works by great Russian writers. More

The student rating system developed by ILS Student Council President Anfisa Bogdanenko was launched in the third quarter. Every month, Anfisa analyzed the participation of each student in grades 5-7 in school events, taking into consideration their contribution to the event’s success, and drew conclusions. More
