Students from Shaanxi Pedagogical University in Xi'an China came to ILS to do their senior-year practicum. The group included future teachers of the English, Chinese and Russian languages, as well as future music teachers. More
Aleksei is a frequent winner in the Parilla Mini Class, even though he only began karting a little more than two years ago. In August, when all his classmates were on holiday, Aleksei participated in the Vladivostok karting championship, justifying all his efforts by taking first place. More

The independent judges panel and the organizational committee of the “Top 100 Russian Schools” competition announced that International Linguistic School was selected among the prize winners. In a letter to ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko, the chairman of the organizational committee wrote that “the school of which you are principal has been chosen as a prize winner in the ‘Top 100 Russian Schools’ competition, and you personally have been awarded the honorary title ‘Principal of the Year – 2017’ and named ‘Honorary Member of the International Academy of Quality and Marketing’”. ILS students and teachers were Russia’s only representatives at the International Youth Educational-Ecological Forum at CHUO High School in Morioka, Japan. Students delegations from Australia, Vietnam, China, Malasia, New Zealand, Thailand, Indonesia, Canada, France Senegal, Argentina, Belgium, Finland, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and, of course, Japan, spent a week discussing issues related to this year’s forum title “Global citizens for a more peaceful and tolerant world”. ILS joined UNESCO in celebrating International Literacy Day, with a theme this year of “Literacy in the world of digital technology”. Students in the 5th-8th grades participated in the event, with 8th graders from group 8M1 giving a presentation in English on the topic. More
ILS graduates Maria Moshchevitina and Daria Vorozhtsova are studying in two very different but very interesting professional areas. Maria is a first-year student at the University of Washington in Seattle and hopes eventually to become a doctor (neurologist). More
ILS 9th grader Anfisa Bogdanenko was the winner of Russian National Robot Olympiad and was chosen for the Russian All-Star Team in robot technology. Anfisa in now preparing intensively for the World Robot Olympiad – 2017, which will be held this November in Costa Rica, with the Russian team competing against the strongest teams from around the world. Danil Martynyuk, a 2014 graduate of ILS, returned to his alma mater for a visit on Knowledge Day. He is now studying at Simon Fraser University, Beedie School of Business (Vancouver) with a double major in Аccounting and Entrepreneurship. More

ILS 10th graders are currently doing their summer practicum, which is a mandatory part of the CAS program. Practicum sites include the Primorye Picture Gallery, as well as Vladivostok museums and libraries. More
The ILS Russian as a foreign language competition “Russia through our Eyes” was featured by the “Russian World” Fund (Moscow). The Fund’s site posted information about the competition, including the tasks assigned to participants. More
ILS 6m1 student Vlad Yuriev has been performing this year in the historical play “The Wall” at the Gorky Academic Theater. As audiences can attest, the play features scenes with teeming masses, and one of those creating the atmosphere is our student Vlad. Vlad told us that he has participated in almost all of this year’s performances. More
The 4th issue of ILS school newspaper Fox Tales has hit the newsstands, and the paper’s editorial board says that of all the issues, this one has the most to offer. The new issue includes interviews with ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko, who provides details about the school’s plans for the coming academic year, and English teacher and English Studies Coordinator Svetlana Feshchenko, who discusses English at ILS.
