ILS 5th grader Taisia Yurova (section 5M1) took second place in the Latin American program (age category: Children 2+1) at the Primorye dance tournament "Prestige 2018".
She and her partner Oleg Timoshenko performed in slow waltz, quickstep, tango, samba, cha-cha-cha and jive.
Taisia has been a dancer for four years, and is a confident participant in competitive events.
“I like fast dances most of all,” says Taisia. “A month ago I got back from a national tournament, where I won a bronze medal. I really want to come in first, and in time I think I’ll manage it.”
“Determination is a very fine quality,” notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “Competition helps to form qualities such as responsibility and goal-orientation, which also have a strong positive effect on academic performance. We congratulate Taisia and wish her continuing success in her endeavors.”
