International Week at the International Linguistic School this year is dedicated to the cultural heritage and cultural values of different countries. It is culture that preserves the peculiarities of national identity, national characteristics and constitutes the national pride of each state. Our school has students and teachers from India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Canada, the USA, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Belarus, and we are glad to learn even more about the cultural heritage of each of these countries. International Week opened with a "journey" in Korea. The "travelers" wandered through the halls of the museum, where they were sung national songs, invited to perform a national dance, showed the masterpieces of ancient architects, surprised with views of nature, introduced to K-pop, which has conquered the world music space.
The traditions of the Korean people are very ancient, - explains Kwon Hyewon, a student of the 11th grade of the International Linguistic School from the Republic of Korea. – Today we showed a dance in national hanbok costumes. Hanbok in Korea is worn on holidays. In the past, the fabric and color of the hanbok could say a lot about the person who wore it. So, ordinary people could not afford expensive fabrics, so their hanboks were usually made of cotton, while noble persons had the opportunity to wear a hanbok made of rami, Chinese nettle fabric, and silk. The color of the hanbok often reflected a person's age or status.
- International Week is a traditional event of our school, which all children from 1st to 12th grade become participants, – says Olga Shevchenko, principal of the International Linguistic School. – People of different cultures and different nationalities live in the world, who contribute to the development and saturation of our own Russian national culture. We see this on the example of our school. We always emphasize that familiarity with the culture of other countries and peoples allows us to find unique forms of cooperation and participation in joint projects. There are more presentations of India, France, Germany, Great Britain, master classes and national games ahead.
