International Week continues with master classes of the national culture of Japan, Korea, Canada, the USA, France, China, Russia, where children immerse themselves in the world of ancient craft. Master classes were conducted not only by ILS teachers, but also by the parents of our students. - The Beijing Opera is a national treasure of China, - explains the choice of the master class a teacher of Chinese Marina Oleinik. – In traditional Chinese theaters, an artist can make up one artist for several hours so that his image matches the role. Drawing a mask, the students choose colors that symbolize certain emotions and the character of the characters.

- I drew a hero who has a lot of red on his mask – in China it means loyalty and courage, - says Yaroslav Petrov, a 4th grade student. – My hero will be a brave warrior.

- And we created drawings out of sand, - Kawai Yasuki, a 4th grade student from Japan, shares his impressions. – It is considered a traditional art in the USA, so the Indians painted.

- The Eiffel Tower is considered a symbol of France, and I decided to make it with our own hands, - says Elena Poddubnyak, a French teacher. – The history of its creation and the biography of the engineer are very interesting. This tower was planned to be dismantled after the exhibition, then it was removed for 20 years under the personal control of its creator, and as a result, the whole world considers it a symbol of France.

At the master class on Korean culture, children, together with the teachers, were happy to make happiness handbags.

- Happiness is something that never happens a lot, – says a teacher of ESL Veronika Burova. – let our handbags become a mascot for all its participants.

Traditionally, many master classes at International Week are dedicated to Russian culture: Russian Russian Russian Russian national costume", "Russian crafts"Gzhel", "Russian amusements" (folk songs and dances), "Russian Matryoshka", "Alatyr (amulet)".

- I never thought it would be so interesting to weave amulets, - admits Nikita Vyalshin, a 10th grade student. - This is a very interesting experience for me.

- Modern children, I think, have not seen a loom and have no experience of weaving, - Anna Aleksandrovna Pokotilo explains the idea of her master class. – My children study at this school, and I offered a master class on the creation of a talisman called "alatyr". The ability to create dolls harmoniously develops the younger generation, giving value to things that we take for granted. Today, the students from high school were surprised to discover that they know how to create beautiful products without having any weaving skills. I've been planning to offer my opportunities to the school for a long time, it's great that I managed to do it today!

The history of the Russian national costume was introduced to the children by fashion historian and fashion designer Olga Vadimovna Lukinets.

- The cultural heritage of the Russian people, accumulated over the centuries, is great and diverse, - explains Olga Vadimovna. - And one of its brightest manifestations is the Russian folk costume, which has passed a long way in its development, closely connected with the history of Russia. - To make with your own hands, to lead a round dance, to create sand drawings, to cut paper toys that children played many centuries ago - this is immersion in history, - says Olga Shevchenko, principal of the International Linguistic School. – We strive to ensure that our students are not observers, but participants in all International Week events.
