Twelve scientists from the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences delivered more than 20 fascinating lectures to ILS students during Science Week.
The students learned about global environmental problems and ways to solve them. One of the main topic was the huge and increasing volume of trash our planet has to deal with every day. Experts estimate that last year in Primorye more than 40 million tons of waste were collected, and our students joined in the discussion of the most effective waste disposal and treatment methods. Sofia Yarusova showed students in 9m2 and 9m3 different approaches to saving our planet.
