ILS 10th grader Olesya Gorashko took first place in the "Top Translator 2017" Internet translation competition in the category "Translation of Journalistic Texts" (teacher, Olga Shevchenko). The competition was timed to coincide with International Translators Day and included students in grades 9-11.
The task invloved translating a text of 1800 characters from English into Russian," Olesya reports. "My text was about the politeness of Canadians. We were given two hours to complete the task, but I finished in one."
