Our “Winter School” continued its work with a lecture on “Effective Methods of Working with Texts” by Professor and Doctor of Pedagogical Science Elizaveta Khamrayeva for ILS teachers of all subjects.
Professor Khamrayeva believes that effective methods include paraphrasing tasks, answers to questions about the text using words not found in it, brief instructions, and a multitasking approach.
“We see work with texts as one of our priority tasks,” explains ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “Regardless of what subject an instructor teaches, work with texts is inevitable, whether it’s mathematics, physics, chemistry or geography. Professor Khamrayeva showed us ways of doing this more effectively, emphasizing how to apply these methods during lessons as part of a meta-subject approach to learning.”
