ILS 8th grader Mikhail Zelinsky won a diploma and the "audience favorite" award at the 10th International Competition for Young Musicians "Musical Vladivostok 2018".
As sole percussionist, Misha performed on the xylophone, vibraphone and drums.
Misha remarked that the "audience favorite" prize meant a lot to him: "If the judges chose me, that means the audience must have like how I played very much!"
"We offer our warmest congratulations to Misha on his latest triumph!" says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Misha will also be taking past in the Pacific Fusion International Children's Jazz Festival Competition organized by ILS and scheduled for late April. I hope he is also victorious at Pacific Fusion, particularly as he will be performing on our school's home territory."
