Polina Guryanova and Denis Predit (teacher - Natalya Lyalko) participated in the 1st Far Eastern Competition-Festival "I love you, Russia", tying for second place.
"At the competition I read Yesinin's poem 'to Pushkin'," reports Denis. "I liked this poem very much because of the poet's sincerity, as he measures his dreams against the master's life."
"The judges awarded me second place," notes Polina, a bit disappointed. "I tried, prepared very hard, but it turned out that to win, I needed to do even more."
"I congratulate our students on being among the prize winners," says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Participation in a poetry contest is yet another way to get to know the great masters better, and it also help develop our students' to speak and present themselves before an audience. I hope this will inspire them to continue their study of literature and to be next year's winners!"
