ILS students learn how to make a film

The film festival "Pacific Meridian" is in full swing in Vladivostok, and its guests from the New York Film Academy paid a visit to ILS. Program head Lidia Sedrone and Jacob Aaron Torgeson, who teaches directing and film editing, spoke with ILS students about the film industry.

During the meeting, which was all in English, the students and their guests discussed the latest trends in film, the types and numbers of people involved in the film industry, and the fact that anyone armed with a smartphone can test his or her mettle as a film director.

A great deal of effort goes into a finished product of high quality. That is what they teach at the New York Film Academy.

"Our graduates study successfully at universities all around the world," notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "We would be very proud if any of them were to excel in the film industry and receive worldwide recognition."
