Russian Language and Literature teacher Galina Korotkonozhkina, who is also the homeroom teacher for section 9M3, went with her students to Mt. Timpur to enjoy the view of Ussuriisk Bay and surrounding areas from the summit.
Mt. Timpur also has another name - Eagle Talon - and is located in the Vladivostok suburbs. It is the highest point on Shore Ridge, which runs from Manzhur Bay to Shamora.
"The students and I decided that this was an excellent route for a hike," explains Galina Korotkonozhkina. "Although the ridge is not very high, it opens onto wonderful panoramic views of Ussuriisk Bay and Amur Bay, as well as Sedanka Reservoir and Livada Ridge. Along the way you can see outcroppings of rock resembling eagle talons, and also alpine meadows."
"Outdoor excursions for teachers and students encourage friendly relations," notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Trips like these enhance students' love for travel and observation, which expands their worldview.
