The practicum for students from Shaanxi Pedagogical University (Xi'an, China) continues at ILS.
During their stay in Vladivostok, these future teachers have participated in the environmental holiday "Tiger Day", an initiative of the well-known author and naturalist Vladimir Troinin and the Fenix International Charity Fund, with support from Russian and international nature protection organizations. The students liked this holiday very much, particularly as they, just like everyone else in the world, understand how important it is to draw society's attention to the need to protect endangered species, such as the Amur tiger. Our young guests enjoy strolling around the city and visiting various interesting places.
However, the main goal goal of the students' visit to ILS is learning about Russian teaching methods. After graduating, they will work as teachers of biology and physics, the Chinese, Russian and English languages, and dance, so they regularly visit lessons of this kind at ILS. The students also spent time at European Progymnasium, where they observed the particulars of teaching primary school children.
Also, the future teachers from China have met with older ILS students to tell them about their university, its admission requirements, the advantages of studying there, and campus life.
"This is seventh time that students from Shaanxi Pedagogical University have come to our school for a practicum," notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Our teachers show them how various subjects are taught in Russia and acquaint them with our individual approach to each child."
