ILS 9th grader Lev Novitsky wins regional "21st Century Leader" competition

Lev Novitsky won the regional "21st Century Leader" competition in the "Best idea for Primorye" category, for which he was awarded a free stay at Ocean All-Russian Children's Center. Lev's project, "Rebirth", involved placing separate receptacles for different kinds of waste (glass, paper, plastic, batteries, etc.) at Vladivostok schools.

From October 28 to November 1, sixty leaders and heads of youth associations from Primorye Region gathered in Vladivostok to compete for the title of Primorye Youth Leader, as part of the wider goal of identifying and supporting young leaders for Russia.

"This was a good experience for me," says Lev. "I met determined students who are trying to make life interesting not only for themselves but also for those around them. I found like-minded people, and I am convinced that good ideas always find support and the resources to bring them to life."

"We congratulate Lev on his well-deserved victory," notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Determination and knowledge always bring good results, and we wish Lev new achievements in all his academic and sports endeavors."
