ILS students in grades four, eight and nine studying Chinese language took part in the 12th Pen Calligraphy competition organised by the Confucius Institute of FEFU, with support from Chinese Confucius institutes and the Chinese Consulate General in Vladivostok.
"My students often take part in FEFU Confucius Institute competitions," explains ILS Chinese Language teacher Anna Belonogova. "The competition is more than just an intellectual contest, as the students also have contact with like-minded peers studying Chinese."
"Participation in the pen calligraphy competition is good preparation for participation in the brush calligraphy competition," notes Chinese Language teacher Marina Oleinik. "Last year two of our girls were winners in creative categories of the prestigious 'Chinese language is a bridge' competition."
"More than 70 of our students study Chinese," says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Regular participation in competitions definitely opens new opportunities for studying a subject, and I wish everyone success in this challenge!"
