Fifth graders Damir Tekiev (section 5M2,) and Yaroslav Nazorov (section 5M3) took first and second place, respectively, at the Hapkido Open Championship in Seoul, Korea.
More than 200 participants from Russia, Israel and Uzbekistan came together for the competition, with bouts among contestants in various age groups. Russian participants, in youth as well as adult age categories, had no equals at the event.
ILS students prepared well for the event, giving their rivals no chance for victory.
“We congratulate our young athletes on their success,” says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “Despite their tender age, they were worthy competitors, demonstrating strength and focus. We wish them many more victories in the future.”
