Fifth graders in section 5M1 and their homeroom teacher Raisa Soroka, an instructor of physical education at ILS, visited an important lesson on civil defense and emergencies.
"The children were told what kind of emergencies can arise as the winter holidays approach and what to do to be safe," reports Raisa Soroka. "For example the children learn how quickly and artificial New Year's tree can burn and how dangerous fireworks can be. The instructor checked the children's awareness of emergency phone numbers and the children showed that they are well prepared."
"It is very important to explain dangerous situations to children, how to prevent them, and how to behave should they rise," explains ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "That is why our students attend lessons such as these and why we have similar lessons at the school, hold regular drills, and acquaint students with fire fighting equipment and other emergency systems."
