Winter is a traditional time for sports achievements by our students, with basketball as one of the favorites at ILS. In recent days, we saw compelling clashes between students in various 9th-grade sections and 8th-grade section 8M1, with section 9M1 taking first place and 8M1 finishing second.

Chess tournaments are attracting more and more interest among our 5th and 6th graders, with an ILS team reaching the semifinals in the city competition Big White Rook. The team included 5th graders Daniel Markin (5M4), Lev Kogan (5M3), Daria Sorokina (5M1) and Yaroslav Shalin (6M1). Reaching this level of competition was a significant achievement for each member of the team.

On February 1st, the regional stage of the All-Russian competitions for the Russian School Students Movement Cup was held, with ILS students competing by computer.

Our students are also enjoying success in winter sports, with Matvei Belyaev of section 5M1 winning the Primorye Region Open Cup in Downhill Skiing in the giant slalom and finishing second in the slalom.
