ILS students in the youngest grades held an exciting event with costumes, dances and competitions, all for a single purpose: to say farewell to winter and welcome the long-awaited spring.

In the story, evil bandits stole spring and did not want to give it back until the children and their parents together with the heroes of the show had participated in enjoyable competitions. 

The children read tounge-twisters, assembled words and pictures, had a tug-of-war, threw balls into a basket, tested their dexterity, and even drew with their eyes blindfolded. The parents helped the children with all of this, enjoying themselves just as much as the youngsters. In the end, the bandits gave up, and everyone danced together, greeting spring.

"Holidays like this are important for young children," says primary grades teacher Olga Yakovleva. "They learn how to conduct themselves on stage, as well as how to form and work in teams. It is also important to maintain the feeling of a children's holiday in them for as long as possible. After all, they grow very fast."

"The role of extracurricular events is crucial to the learning process," notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. "Well organized activities of this kind help children to develop and to discover their hidden talents."
