ILS 6th grader Timur Serdyukov, section 6M2, won a gold medal at the International Rapier Fencing Championship in Harbin, China.
During the two-day competition, fencers from various countries battled for the right to be declared champions, with Timur prevailing in the category for boys born in 2005-2006.
Fifth-grader Danil Markin, section 5M1, won the silver medal in speed chess at the Ladya (Rook) chess club.
“I have been playing chess for two years,” says Danil. “It is a very interesting and difficult game, excellent for training memory and logic.”
“We congratulate our students on their success,” says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “We are pleased that our students participate in a wide range of sports and are always active. We wish them new challenges and victories.”
