ILS 6th grader Timur Serdyukov, section 6M2, won a gold medal at the International Rapier Fencing Championship in Harbin, China.
During the two-day competition, fencers from various countries battled for the right to be declared champions, with Timur prevailing in the category for boys born in 2005-2006.
Fifth-grader Danil Markin, section 5M1, won the silver medal in speed chess at the Ladya (Rook) chess club.
“I have been playing chess for two years,” says Danil. “It is a very interesting and difficult game, excellent for training memory and logic.”
