ILS 5th graders achieve sports success

ILS 5th graders recently demonstrated that sport can be much more than just a leisure activity, achieving excellent results in difficult competitions.

Rinat Nigmatullin of section 5M4 won a gold medal and two silver medals at the International Rapier Fencing Championship in Harbin, China.

Just like his friend Timur Serdyukov, a 6th grader in section 6M2, Rinat is greatly interested in this unusual type of sport, which requires speed, quick reaction, and tactical thinking.

Another of our 5th graders, Dmitry Golyanitsky of section 5M2 took first place in the Vladivostok Victory Day Boxing Championship.

Yulia Emelyanova of section 5M4 won a gold medal at the Primorsky Regional Cheer Sport Championship in the Cheer Jazz category.

Her classmate, Danil Nagerbadze, and his team took third place in the traditional Victory Day football tournament for boys born in 2007-2008. The tournament included eight teams and was held at Lenin Stadium in Khabarovsk.

“We congratulate our students on their victories,” says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “Their example demonstrates how determination and hard work combine to bring success.
