American guitarist, singer, composer, and poet Tim Easton gave a concert at ILS, performing folk, country and blues numbers and chatting with our students in English.
Tim told about his life, about his journey from a street musician to a singer making albums of his own. The students asked him questions, such as how long he has been playing music, who his favorite performer is, and why he chose the guitar as his main instrument.
“I play piano, drums, bass, and several other instruments, but I think the guitar is the best instrument for songwriting,” Tim explained.
He formed his first group while still at university, but he considers his “main musical university" and source of inspiration to be his experiences while traveling around the USA and the rest of the world. Tim’s rock ballads tell about life and about people, displaying, as Rolling Stone magazine put it: “a writer’s ability to feel human nature.”
“We are glad that Tim came to our school to perform,” says ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “It was a fine opportunity for our students to chat with a native speaker of English and listen to good music.”
