At the prestigious “Apriore Cup – 2019” DanceSport tournament in Moscow, Taisia Yurova (section 6M1) and her partner were champions. Her dance sport trophy case now includes 1st place in the category “Juniors 2+1, E class, Standard," and 1st place in the category “Juniors 2+1, up to E class, Latina.”
“I didn't expect to win,” Taisia explains. “We hadn’t performed much in Standard, and during our dance, another couple bumped into us. I thought we’d get third place, but we came in first, and I’m so glad we won!”
Taisia has been doing DanceSport since she was five, and Oleg Timoshenko has been her partner for the past three years. They also competed in the “Apriore Cup” last year, taking 3rd place.
“Taisia is a good student, writes for the school newspaper Fox Tales, and participates in school concerts,” notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “We congratulate her on her victory and wish her continued success in the future.”
