Internet safety is something that every school student should know about, and it was the topic of discussion during a visit with ILS 6th and 7th graders by Svetlana Brizhak, who is a psychologist and coach, a teacher at Far Eastern Federal University, and an expert in information and psychological security.
Svetlana Brizhak explains: “Teenagers need to be taught how to recognize the mechanisms used to influence with information in order to protect themselves against psychological damage.”
The students asked questions about variouos types of online fraud and how to protect themselves against it. Svetlana told them about some of the schemes used by Internet criminals and gave recommendations about ways to make interaction in the net more safe and comfortable.
The students offered examples from their own experience of when Internet criminals tried to defraud them.
“Information and psychological security is an extremely important topic,” notes ILS Principal Olga Shevchenko. “School students should be knowledgeable in this area in order not to fall into the traps set by swindlers.”
